| This technology allows you to variably distribute the Windows print process in the network. A virtual printer driver, the ThinPrint Output Gateway, initially transmits the print data in a printer-independent format. This enables you to use the original printer driver only where it makes sense and is easy to manage. Depending on the application scenario this can be the client computer or a central print server. |

| The virtual printer driver used with DRIVER FREE PRINTING (ThinPrint Output Gateway) allows you to access all the print options and properties of the target printer. Standard properties of the original printer drivers are read automatically. You can select options such as paper format, duplex print and the correct paper tray in the normal way using the operator interface. Any special functions of the printer can be easily operated using a preview on the Client. |

| ThinPrint also supports the PCoIP protocol. This allows users to print from their virtual VMware View desktops to local or network printers, without any additional printer drivers needing to be installed on the desktops. |

| ThinPrint enables compressed and bandwidth-optimized printing to remote print servers (for example, in branch offices) or print appliances. The administration of printers belonging to the respective branch office is thus outsourced to the respective office. |

| In many network environments, central print servers have long been used to relieve the application server and increase system performance. The ThinPrint Printer Virtualization Layer (V-Layer) supports this approach and also allows you to use DRIVER FREE PRINTING technology on central print servers. In this way you can store all original printer drivers centrally on your print server, while the virtual printer driver (ThinPrint Output Gateway) is used everywhere else. The sharing is done using the ThinPrint Output Gateway, which is coupled with the original printer drivers. |
| Connection-oriented bandwidth control of print data |

| ThinPrint bandwidth control ensures that the bandwidth set for the port is not exceeded even if multiple users are printing at the same time (for example, if all printers at a branch office are only addressed by one ThinPrint port). This method offers distinct advantages as compared to simple user-based methods for restricting bandwidth. |
| Direct printing to network printers |

| ThinPrint also supports the TCP/IP protocol. This allows you to send compressed and (if required) SSL-encrypted print data directly to the network printer. If the network printer has access to a ThinPrint client, print data is decompressed and decrypted directly on the device, allowing you to benefit from optimum performance, minimal administration requirements and maximum security through end-to-end encryption. | ThinPrint allows you to access network printers in branch offices even when no dedicated line or VPN connection is available. The ThinPrint Connected Gateway can be used to establish a tunnel between the main office and a branch office, allowing you to print to network printers in the branch office just as you would to printers in the LAN. You therefore do not need to invest in an expensive dedicated line in branch offices. |
