Server & Client Software
Client server communication: You generally install ThinPrint software in two locations: on the client which accesses another computer, and on the server or (virtual) desktop which is being accessed. The ThinPrint Client is installed on the client computer (or on a network printer), whereas the ThinPrint Engine is installed on the server or desktop.
These server and client components ensure that print data reaches its destination in its optimal form – for example, via bandwidth control, compression and/or encryption. The ThinPrint Engine compresses and encrypts, while the ThinPrint Client uncompresses and decrypts.
ThinPrint ports: ThinPrint prints via its own printer ports, which integrate with the Microsoft system. You can set up as many printer ports as you like. In contrast to Microsoft, ThinPrint allows you to connect any number of printers to a port. For example, you can limit the bandwidth for a branch location, regardless of the number of printers and users located there.

Port pooling is also possible: Printers that you want to print via the same port are connected to multiple ports with the same configuration. Instead of only one port, you can – for example – choose between three ports, and you are also able to process three print jobs at the same time.
Licensing: You can select between user and server-based licensing.
