DRIVER FREE PRINTING
Printing without printer drivers: The ThinPrint Output Gateway, which you install on the server or desktop which prints, replaces any printer driver.
Your advantages: Printer driver conflicts are avoided. The administrative effort associated with printer set-up and the number of different drivers can be drastically reduced. This is especially useful if you are not fully familiar with the printers of your branch offices or home users, or if you are using multi-functional devices.

How it works: The Output Gateway is installed as the sole printer driver on the server or desktop on which the Windows applications run. This driver is designated by Microsoft. All printers which are locally installed on the workstations will be automatically connected to the user's sessions and are made available as part of the Printers folder as usual. A Windows computer is required on the client side. This computer is able to receive driver-independent print data and render print jobs with the locally installed driver. Alternatively, a local print server can be used for each branch location.
Printer properties: The Output Gateway adopts the printer properties (e. g. paper trays, duplex, color/black-white, punching or stapling) from the original driver. These are loaded into the session using AutoConnect.

Thin Clients: To benefit from Driver Free Printing with Thin Clients or other non-Windows clients, you can use the V-Layer – e. g., if print jobs are to send directly to network printers.
