DRIVER FREE PRINTING

Printing without printer drivers. In this case, the ThinPrint Output Gateway is used as the printer driver and replaces all other printer drivers. Instead of installing a number of drivers, you only need to install the Output Gateway on the printing server or desktop. Your advantages: printer driver conflicts are avoided. The administrative effort associated with printer set-up and the number of different drivers can be drastically reduced. This is especially useful if you are not fully familiar with the printers of your branch office or home user, or if you are using multi-functional devices.

You install the Output Gateway as the sole printer driver on the printing server or desktop that you want to access. This driver is designated by Microsoft. All your local printers are automatically created with this driver during your session (remote desktop connection) and are made available to you as part of your print folder as usual. To this end, a template which uses the Output Gateway as the driver is created. A Windows 32-bit computer is required on the client side. This computer is able to receive printer-independent data and communicate with the locally installed driver. Alternatively, a local print server can be used for each branch location, such as a small printbox.

The Output Gateway adopts the printer properties (paper trays, duplex, color/back-white or resolution) from the original driver. These are loaded into the session using AutoConnect.
