Cortado, our mobile division, plans to improve Google’s recently announced Cloud Print solution. Printing without using a desktop will be possible. Cortado already offers such a solution for BlackBerry smartphones, iPhones, iPod touch and iPad, and soon also for Google Android smartphones: www.cortado.com/cloudprinting.

Why?: Google and HP have announced cloud printing solutions where you can print with a printer that is connected to the cloud. This printer must however either support Google’s or HP’s technology or be connected to a running PC. Cortado, our mobile division, has taken a completely different approach. With Cortado’s cloud printing solution, you can print to any printer directly connected via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to a smartphone,  netbook or iPad. This approach saves you searching for a printer that supports Google’s or HP’s cloud printing solution, or having to turn on a PC.
With Google wishing to motivate manufacturers to produce Google Cloud Print compatible printers and with HP only supporting certain printer models, Cortado has risen to the printer driver challenge in our certified hosting centers. More than 12,000 customers using our Cortado Workplace cloud printing solution can already use over 6,000 different printer drivers. Feedback from Cortado customers enables to constantly update and expand the range of printer drivers. Already now, nearly all available printers are supported.
With the latest approach from Google, here at ThinPrint and Cortado, we feel confirmed in our belief that a cloud printing solution is necessary. Therefore we are sticking to our plans to create the best possible cloud printing solution for Google Chrome OS. Both approaches will complement each other perfectly.
