During her traditional opening tour at the world’s largest hi-tech trade fair, Angela Merkel also visited the ThinPrint stand in hall 3, A24. Quite an honor as ThinPrint was the only medium-sized German business to present its solutions to the Federal Chancellor, the Prime Minister of Spain - José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the Prime Minister of the German State of Lower Saxony - Christian Wulff and Rainer Brüderle - Federal Minister for Economics and Technology. Chancellor Merkel showed particular interest in new forms of data storage and our central strategy - Cloud Computing.
All signs at this year’s CeBIT point to Cloud Computing. No wonder, as companies can save enormous costs for maintenance, software licenses and infrastructure.
During her CeBIT visit, Angela Merkel was very interested in Cloud Services, especially concerning security. Merkel posed the question at our stand: “How do you ensure the data is not lost?” “This is one of the principles of our company,” assured Carsten Mickeleit, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “The data is stored only two kilometers from the Federal Chancellery,” he continued. The German Chancellor nodded approvingly.
Carsten Mickeleit proudly presented the latest Cloud solution - Cortado Workplace to the German Chancellor and the Prime Minister of Spain. The free and worldwide first mobile desktop offers iPhone and BlackBerry users the only mobile file manager with Cloud Printing functionality. Users of Cortado Workplace are offered a personal 1GB online storage facility.
